    system stops responding

Hello everybody, i am using slackware 10.2 and kde 3.3.2 and i am having some problems, because sometimes it's just stops responding for a few second, it don't respond nor to keyboard nor to mouse, and every programs stops. Have anyone had same problem, or is there is any log file or some application which could trace the reason of such crashes?

Well, you could stop using KDE.
Seriously, the same thing happens to me, it's not the computers fault, it's KDE's fault, it's as slow as hell.

But which processor and RAM? KDE is known as a RAM consumer.

You could try another Desktop Environment - Gnome or Xfce.
Debian Jessie x86_64 & armhf :: LibreELEC is the solution for your Linux-based HTPC setups.

Look at /var/log/syslog and /var/log/Xorg.0.log files if there is something weird.

You might need to log in as super user or belong to the ADM group to read them, though.
