Help installing soundcard (--->really noob inside<---)

    humm

I must admit that I'm really a newbye to linux.
I thought that maybe if someone can teach me how to install only the soundcard, I will begin understanding how this os works and how to install all the other devices.

    Thank you

    run 'alsaconf' as root

it will probe and setup your card

    after that runs (if sucessful)

run 'alsamixer' and set the volumes accordingly, unmute any critical ones that may be muted. press escape to exit back to the terminal

after that - to store the settings, type 'alsactl store' as root

this is all assuming you are using ALSA
