cannot boot
I cannot boot my system. When i turn my computer on, it only shows :
L 99 99 99 99 99 99 .............
I have MS and Slackware 10.2 kernel 2.4.31 (on hda4) and until now the dual booting was working fine, but i dont know why things got messed up with my LILO. I tried to rescue Slackware using CD1. First, i mounted hda4 (mount /dev/hda4 /mnt -t ext2) and typed boot = /dev/hda4 . I got Permission Denied. How can i solve this problem or is there another way to recover my Slackware ?

If lilo is in the master boot record (MBR) you should have "boot = /dev/hda" instead.
With the Slack disc 1 i think you have to make symbolic links so that lilo reads the /boot and /etc/lilo.conf on your partition and not the ramdrive.
mount /dev/hda4 /mnt/hda4
cd /etc
ln -s /mnt/hda4/etc/lilo.conf .
cd /
ln -s /mnt/hda4/boot .
Modify your appropriate lilo.conf and run /sbin/lilo
You should see :
Added Linux *
Added Windows
