Slackware Dual Monitor Setup- Nvidia FX5500/Intel 82865G

    Hi everyone.

I would like to setup a dual monitor system for my slackware 10.2 system.

    My current setup is:

    1. Nvidia PCI card- running my default monitor

    2. Onboard Intel graphics (82865g)- from the tower-which i want to run on an older IBM monitor.

Can someone give me some advice on how to set this up?

I heard it has just something to do with your xorg file, but have no clue where to start.

    Thanks for any help

    Paul.

its actually very simple. plugin the hardware,

    backup your old xorg.conf

as root run X -configure and it will make a new xconfig for you, test it out with the command it gives, then just add your modelines for each graphics card and screen horizsync and vertrefresh

I have included my config (attached) for reference, you should have it up and trucking in very little time, the main thing that got me was not enabling the "Xinerama" Xorg extension that basically deals with multiple heads as one desktop - which I presume is what you require and not a seperate X session per head.

( I actually did this about a week back, check the thread I made by using the search)

    good luck!
