    try:

    as root

    modprobe orinoco
    modprobe orinoco_cs

    then post

    dmesg | tail
    /sbin/ifconfig -a
    /sbin/iwconfig

    thanks for your help

    sorry, so long, but I had to go away for a few hours. But I downloaded 10.2 in the meantime. and I think I'm going to give that a try, but i'm sure I'll come up with some more newbie problems
