    Question PCMCIA+3c562D inactive

hi, i have just installed deli linux (based on slackware) on an old compaq armada laptop (4160T).
I installed pcmcia drivers, and the driver of tthe card (3c589_cs), (like in the previous gentoo sys, where it worked).
It appears in dmesg, if i bring it up with ifconfig, it is on the list, for cca 10 minutes, after that it disappears. the led doesnt do anything, cardctl says it is busy.
    deli uses 2.2.26, pcmcia's module is i82365.
    Please help me
