if you run slackware-current, you basically are running the 'in development' version of slackware, whereas the 10.2 'stable' tree doesnt get patched or updated as frequently. the "-current" tree has just had its version number bumped in the package aaa_base_11.0, meaning , slackware-current has just turned into 11.0 Release candidate 1.
so , its no big secret, you can have it too if you upgrade or use slackware-current instead of stable, its not for people not used to slackware problems and diagnosing faults though. I just warn you now to save time.
so, you could upgrade to current or wait. I'd wait.

I wouldnt bother reinstalling just to have current on.
I upgraded and didnt need to format etc.
if you're going to format and put that image on, I'd wait literally a week or two and put 11.0 final on instead.
makes more sense eh?
you dont need the CD, you need to rsync the slackware-current tree and upgrade your packages manually.
so downloading that dvd image isnt going to help you a great deal because you likely have no script to maintain the tree using rsync, that dvd image will be out of date in literally a day.
wait for 11.0 final!
