Has anyone installed slackware 10.2 on an Asus P5B deluxe motherboard?
Install doesn't see my sata or regular ide hard drives, both are detected by bios. Boots the install CD OK.

I wasn't able to get Slackware 10.2 to install on my P5B; even the newest kernel on that disc (test26.s) isn't new enough to support the ICH8 or JMicron chipsets. I had to download slackware-current from the web and make a bootable DVD. Once I did that I was able to get it installed. At this point everything works except that the second two drives on the ICH8 SATA controller aren't recognized. If you don't want to bother with slackware-current, 11.0 should be out any day now.

Asus P5B and Slack 10.2
Thanks, I also tried Fedora Core 5, it couldn't see the drives either.
