    sorry for my previous post i accidentaly clicked on the post quick reply link..
    anyway heres my intended post:

    Hi PenGUiN_6_1,

    Thanks for the help but i hate to inform you that it didnt work in my box. I did try to run aslamixer as root in the terminal before starting x and make sure that all the volume bars were set to max then invoke alsactl store to save the state. After that, i run X and before playing an audio i checked first if kmix and alsamixer were all set to max volume. Unfortunately it didnt work as expected, still theres no sound .. t

    I believe there are lots of linux experts around here that know how to fix this.. kindly help me thanks!
