    New install 11.0?

    I've been trying to get Slack 11. installed and not getting it right. I tried to choose kernel 2.6 on initial install and it always boots 2.4, If anyone can give some insight I'd appreciate it. Thanks

    i installed Slack 11 on a virtual instance. i never ran across it defaulting to 2.4 when i chose 2.6. here was my process;

    1. base install with everything installed when it came to the part where i needed to install the kernel i chose the huge26.i kernel

    2. after installation i went in mounted the CD that had kernel-generic*, kernel-modules*, and alsa for 2.6 kernel packages.

    3. installed all three rebooted then changed my inittab file to boot to gui.
