    i can't tell you exactly but you can check in fortune script. its in /etc/profile.d folder. *fortune*.sh.

    i checked it, there is no file related to fortunes(as far as the names of the files are concerned) in /etc/profile.d

    file name is "bsd-games-login-fortune.sh"

    the text files are present in
    /usr/share/games/fortune
    we can edit it here(i think so)

    actually i am not using slackware. read the contents of script file and check from where it fetches 'messages'. OR attach that script here....... let c...


    EDIT: edit these files and see if fortune picks up your messages.
