Help connecting to router with slackware11
I just switched from Ubuntu to slackware 11 yesterday but i seem to be having a problem connecting to the internet. Its detecting that I have an ethernet card and its loading the appropriate drivers but its not communicating with the router. Ive been searching through forums and nothing seems to be working. It cant ping my router or connect to anything on the lan. Its not a dns problem because I tried the ip for google and it didnt work. Any help would be appreciated.

How did you determine that you have "detected" your NIC?
Does ifconfig -a list eth0?

Is your router using dhcp? If it is did you use netconfig to configure your computer to use dhcp to configure the network connection?
This may help

First of all...
* What kind of router is it (Manufacturer, Model, Chipset, etc..)?
* What type of ethernet card are you using, what does lspci tell you?
* How is your router setup, can you ping it, can you access it's HTML interface?
...in order for anyone to help you, you're going to have to be a little more specific about the info you provide
. Remember, Slackware is a lot more hands of a distro than Ubuntu is.
