Need help installing binutils
Hi.
I have recently begun using Linux, and chose Slackware because I heard that due to its required learning curve you learn fundamentals about Unix-based systems.
But nevermind about that, I am writing this because I have a problem.
I have some experience from DOS previously so the installation didn't give me any hassle, but now that I need to install my Geforce drivers it complains about binutils not being installed. I have downloaded the latest binutils version and unzipped it, but since I am unfamiliar with the shell and it's commands I have a hard time installing it.
If someone would help me by explaining the process of installing binutils from scratch, with all the commands written out, I would be very grateful.

Just install the binutils package from the cd
mount the cd
cd to the directory
installpkg 'binutils*.tgz'

Hey, thanks for the help.
I did not know that binutils came with the CD, and I must have missed them when I configured my installation.
Cheers.
