Do you mean the system boot prodram or the gui boot,if the gui wish one you use KDE,Gnome,XFCE ?

You still confusing me, you mean the services that can run directly after the kernel boot or a program that run in parallel with a gui ?
if the first case then go to /etc/rc.d/ you'll find the boot scripts files there you can add something but you should know about shell programming.
if the second case many options are available tell me what gui you use to answer you.
