slack 11 - dual monitor (vga & dvi)
hello..
i 've been using linux for a while..
i have 2 slack boxes, but they are single-monitored..
i 'm thinking of installing it also in my primary box..
under windows, my desktop looks like this:
http://streamkid.de/desktop.JPG
right monitor: 21" 1680x1050 connected with dvi
left monitor: 15" 1024x768 connected with vga
my gfx card is (asus) nvidia geforce 5700 with 256mb ram. both monitors are @60mhz.
is it possible to do sth like in slack? i primarily use xfce, but i 'm open to other wm if xfce doesn't do the job.. i don't do stuff requiring high fps (about 30 would be great).. would be fb a good solution for such high resolutions? (on the other boxes i use fb, but they are single 1024x768 ).. my cpu 32bit single core @3.2ghz...
thanx in advance, streamkid

hi,
I have run slack11 dual monitor with nvidia video controler. It is OK. You shouldn't have problems. Just get linux driver from nvidia and install it. It should be able to find and configure both monitors as well as the video controler.
Give it a try and let us know what happened
