hi
Do you have any problems when in runlevel 3?
What I mean is your pc working smoothly without X?
In Slackware 10.2 I had some problems logging out of KDE. I didn't find the reason. Since I upgraded to Slack11 with KDE 3.5 everything went fine.
What video controller do you have?

Do you have the nvidia driver installed. I mean the driver from nvidia website. Nvidia and Ati have complicated drivers that change xorg.conf during installation.
I have Ati driver and it began working properly after I installed the proper Ati driver.
