    Vectorlinux graphics reconfigure

I have just switched from Kubuntu 6.10 to Vector Linux 5.8 standard gold. In Kubuntu, I had this problem with the graphics. So, a guy told me to boot in recovery mode and type

    Code:
    dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg
and it worked. So I installed Vector and The screen is all messed up. so I go into tui mode and typed

    Code:
    dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg
and It didn't work!!! what should I do to reconfigure the graphics?
    Is there an equivalent to
    Code:
    dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg
    in Slackware or Vector Linux?
