cdrom help
i dl the kernel onto a cd, and when i put into kde it does not reconize that i have it on the cd, when i go to terminal i can get the exact verbage wright so it cant come up, what are the commands thanks rave..

use dmesg command and observe the output report.
mount cdrom device manually refer to the output of dmesg
Code:# mount /dev/cdrom_device /mnt/destination_directory

hello
i cant get the line u gave me to work, i try the graphic way and click on the cd and nothig either it wants to mount it but doesnt. is it posible that the data on the cd is bad..

If you want to download and compile the kernel there's no need to save it on the cd. You can just save it on your desktop and do all the compiling through the konsole.

hello
cause my interent doesnt work, so i went to xp and dl it to desktop, then put it as a data on a cd, and when i go to put the cd in it, i cant mount it and it wont let me, rave
