    Monitor Resolution

I am running a Gateway 7422GX notebook. The highest I can bring the resolution is 1024x768, but I have a 15.4" widescreen monitor. I believe that generic drivers are installed, so how do I get specific drivers so that I may use a higher resolution. Thanks in advance.

How about installing the xf86-video-ati driver?
Did you install slackpkg, swaret, or slapt-get? If so, search for xf86-video, and see which one you need for your video chip.

FWIW- some just install xf86-video-all and that brings in all of them.
