    Problem after install, while on first boot

    I had a slackware 10 install going but it didnt work so well so I reinstalled over the old installation, formatting and etc..

    I now tried booting after the new install and now it starts booting but halts with this error:

    "Cannot open '803' " -- Think its trying to do root=803 or something
    "Please append correct 'root =' option"

    I boot cd again and then mount /dev/sda3/ in /inst and then looked at lilo.conf and it looks fine,

    label = Linux
    root = /dev/sda3

    Anyone know what this could be from??

    Thanks alot
