    He said there is not pnp chip found by alsaconfig,so it's not a mute issue.

    IT seems hopless. Guess I will have to scrap the silly idea that I could get out from under the thumb of Mr. Gates. this box seems to be stuck in winworld. thanks aliov, for trying........

    Yes you right my friend it's our major problem for the drivers, a lot of companies doesn't care too much about Linux and they don't produce a driver for it, but in any case your problem looks very strange for me ,it's okay to don't have a piece of hardware working with Linux but to don't manage even to install any distro (unless Slackware ) !!!

    If you have time try the Mandriva free spring at a last approach.
