    was just coming to tell ou i tried that one too.. lol .. that also didnt work .. same result screen goes black and blank

    have a look to this ATI Proprietary Linux Release Notes

    this card is not recommended for Linux User, but in any case you can give it a installing the ati driver instead of using the built in driver in Xorg.
