    Slackware install


    Installing slack 12 CD1 ISO on a compaq Presatio 1670 laptop

    Have to use huge.s kernel for it to extract and start install but then it hangs at

    "äpm: BIOS version 1.2 Flags 0x03 (driver version 1.16ac)"

    CD is clean

    try to use apm=off to your kernel parameter ,you can also try acpi=off if this doesn't work or both.

    apm=off worked

    I also found the file posted literally all over the internet i should of looked before asking

    also found a reference of sorts for the kernel parameters
