After swaret?
Ok I noticed my KDE was out of date so I did swaret update.
It updated my KDE fine but now it only lets me run X as root. If I try and run as a user tells me I don't have permission to write to my home directory. Has anybody ran into this before.
Number two It lost my sound driver snd-intel8x0 I tried to modprobe snd-intel8x0 tells me can't find module
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Mike

Did you upgrade your kernel modules along with your kernel? I used the kernel packages in the testing/ folder on disk two. Once I forgot to install the modules package and was having all kinds of trouble.
Hope that helps.

I got the kernel off the net. I did a make modules and make modules install if that is what you are meaning. I have the modules I can see them. I think that I have an IRQ conflict but I don't know what to do about it.
I can't get eth0 to come up but I can get eth1 to come up but I can't get eth1 to do anything. I can get my wireless pcmcia card to flash but the eth stuff is broken so I doesn't know that its there. If I do a lsmod it shows all of my modules but it says none are used. I am at a real loss here because everything was working in the 2.4 kernel and I upgraded with swaret and lost my sound so I decided to recompile the kernel everthing went great got my sound work but lost all of my networking. I now have recompiled 5 times and I can't get networking. I am getting tired of compiling.
I compiled to 2.6.7 maybe I will compile a 2.6.8 or 9 any suggestions
