bashrc

well im more used to red hat/fedora than slackware, and i know in the ~/.bashrc file is where you usually edit aliases etc. and i was trying 2 do that on slackware but when i ran vi ~/.bashrc it wasnt a file so i was wonder what file i need 2 edit these things

Maybe the Post-Install Configuration section on this page will help.

If .bashrc doesn't exist, create it and it will be used like expected.

Just type touch .bashrc in ur home directory and then do ur staff. An other possibility is to use /etc/profile

> .bash_profile


you could use /etc/profile.d/ and put a script there, but dont edit the profile directly.
