Basic Question

Ok, I am very new with slackware (1 hour). I am getting some problems.

please help me to find solution of these problem:

1. I want graphical log in screen
2. I want to use Gnome as my default graphical interface (kde is now default)


Other problems i will tell you later.

As to question 2. From the command line, type in xwmconfig and that will give you a little option menu to change your default window manager. If you installed all you need for Gnome, that should be an option and it will switch it.

As for the graphical login screen, I don't know exactly, but I think it is just a matter of your startup scripts...I am sure someone will hop on and answer that fairly quickly.

For question 1, you will have to edit /etc/inittab. Find a line with the following:

id:3:initdefault:

---

(this should be towards the top somewhere). In that line, change the 3 to a 4 to boot automatically into a graphical system complete with graphical login.
