Its a Desktop Environment like KDE. You can install it through Package Manager easily.
Since you're running Slackware, you'll want Dropline Gnome... it's Gnome build to run on Slackware. It shouldn't be to difficult to find and install.
Slackware used to put Gnome on the installation CDs, but dropped it a few years ago. I'd recommend going with Dropline Gnome, as suggested above by Freston, or stay clear of Gnome altogether in Slackware.
However, if you should want regular Gnome, it can be done but might turn into more work than you would want to take on.
ok i just wanted to see the different desktops but if it will be too much work for little reward i wont bother
Gnome is not well supported in Slackware, except for Dropline Gnome as mentioned above.
If you should go with any of the *buntu distros, you have lots of choices of desktop environments, such as Ubuntu (Gnome), Kubuntu (KDE), Xubuntu (Xfce), etc.
