Looks like your init is messed up. We could do with more error's. If possible :)
Also try and use moer meaningful topic names.
Suchs as
initial console error on Slackware
sandra, does it say wich file it couldn't open?
No, 10 seconds after I start Linux, there is warning ''Unable to open an initial console''. I am afraid I will have to reinstall slackware, probably I have deleted some files by accident!!! terible!!!
Thanks, Yeas I know, I have probably deleted some init files but what to do no??? to reinstall slackware, is that only solution???:Quote:

however if you don't have any important work etc. saved in your root partition
i recommend you to just reinstall the slackware system.
good luck
Probably you need to install the devs package. You would have to use a bootdisk/cd to boot into linux then mount your root partition. Do a chroot to the root partition and finally run
installpkg devs-2.3.1-noarch-22.tgz
You may have a different package but it will be on the cd in the /slackware/a/ directory.
