installing new ethernet adaptor..

I recently installed a new ethernet card in my Linux box. I believe it was the Realtek RTL8139 PCI 10/100...
The card appears to be detected by the Linux Kernel, as it shows up under Configuration; but it doesn't seem to be getting an IP address.
I don't really know what drivers I should install for this card either :neutral:

Please try running netconfig from your favorite console and see if it detects and activates your card, then reboot. If you still cannot pull an IP post your /var/log/syslog file here.

Was your previous card onboard? if so disable it in BIOS otherwise linux will still use it as primary.
