is there any linux command that allows you to se all the computers on the network? like in windows its "net view" and it tells you the computer names. is there anything that shows the names or even the ipaddresses? the ipaddress is preferable but is there any thing like that? thanks -ZAc
You should have a "findsmb" command (which comes with the Samba client) that does pretty much the same thing.
Also, there is a program nbtscan that is similar.
'smbtree' comes with samba too and shows a network tree of SMB hosts
