purpose of folders created under /tmp/SBo

not a linux newb, but pretty new to slackware.
when you install packages the package_name_SBo.tgz is created in /tmp.
also created under /tmp/SBo are two more folders, for instance, lame-3.98.4 and package-lame.
the instructions in slackbuilds.org states to "move it to some other location for safekeeping after it's installed"
my question is, what is the purpose of the folders created under /tmp/SBo, and do they need to be moved out along with package_name_SBo.tgz?

in theory, they should delete themselves i think.

move it for safekeeping is in reference to the *.tgz created by a slackbuild. That's a package that you could use later on. /tmp will empty out on system shutdown (or at least it is supposed to), and be fresh on your next boot.
