how would i be able to install slackware with amd64 support so i could install amd64 drivers and use cedega and everything?
as far as i know , first thing u need is a x86_64 compiler, after that u can compile ur kernel as x86_64, and then u can use 64bit drivers
I have done it using a base install of Slackware (very low stuff) I then recompiled the kernel with the x86-64 flags on gcc. Once that was done I started progressing through and compiling and other aspects of the OS that I could. Once that was done I then built from the source packages all of the packages I needed for x86-64.
I hope that the Slackware team (Patrick) choose to release a x86-64 release out of the box.
and why don't U make this unofficial x86_64 version available to every one...
package everything and put in on the NET :)
thats a good idea write a letter to patrick and ask to link back to slackware and release it as Slack64
