Hi, i have a slackware 10.1 and i want that when the pc starts automaticaly it starts kde. i swiched the runlevel form 3 to 4 but i'm unable to use the terminals and when i log in, it automaticaly starts gnome, what can i do ?

Logout from your Gnome session and pick the KDE one in the options. Restart and see if KDE is used or not, if not, you have to specify your default WM somewhere. Don't ask me where exactly though... Which login manager are you using?
you want to change your window manager in $HOME/.xinitrc
its down the bottom
add 'startkde' for KDE
To change your default window manager in slack 10.1 use:
xwmconfig
at the command line. You will then be able to pick from the ones you have installed.
