Hi folks, I've been searching for awhile on how to fix this little issue I've come across. I have found lots of good advice, but none of it is seeming to work.
I'm trying to install the ATI video drivers on my laptop that is currently running OpenSuSE 10.3. It's a Turion64-powered Compaq with an ATI Radeon Xpress 200M graphics chipset.
I have gotten as far as building the RPM package, but can't get the blasted thing to install. It would seem I need to install the compat-expat1 package, however, this is where I'm getting lost. I'm not sure WHICH compat-expat1 package to install, as there are dozens available. I tried installing one, but then I got a dependency error of
libc.so.6()(64bit)
libc.so.6(GLIBC_2.2.5)(64bit)
I also tried to install it directly from Yast, and get an error message of:
"Following packages have not been found on this medium: compat-expat1"
I already installed the libexpat packages from Yast, and all the compat packages I could. So where am I making the bonehead error? I have tried searching for the GLIBC_2.2.5 file, but have had no luck in finding it.
Well, it looks like ATI is either having some sort of issue, or they have taken down support for 10.3, as I can't get "x11-video-fglrxG01" to download with Yast.
Shucks, and I thought I had it figured out...
So, if anyone knows an alternative site to get that package, it would be greatly appreciated.
