YaST Online Update (SuSE 9.0)

When trying to run the YaST Online Update, I receive the following error:

Cannot fetch remote server list

followed by:

URL: http://www.suse.de/cgi-bin/suseservers.cgi
HTTP return code: 407 (URL: http://www.suse.de/cgi-bin/suseserve...2util=2.8.15-1)

If I cut & paste the URL into Konqueror, I get the list. If I cut & paste ANY of the URLs in the list into Konqueror, it takes me to the appropriate site.

I'm using FreeProxy (running on a windoze 2000 machine), and have it set up properly (otherwise I wouldn't be manually reaching the sites above). I have YaST configured correctly for BOTH HTTP and FTP services with the correct ports defined.

What am I doing wrong?

Have you guys set up the proxy settings in your browser, or did you use the proxy tool in YaST under network services?

Sorry for bringing this up but it seems like all the update servers for 9.0 have been shut down a couple of months ago. Does anyone know any sites that still provide updates?

Thumbs up Updating SuSE 9.0

Just found this thread - Don't know if you're still looking but I've located

ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/suse/discontinued/

I'm using the /i386/9.0 folder for updates, but I guess it depends on your system - have a look around in the tree...

Hope this helps

Shame that - It's working for me...

The folder 'directory.3' does not exist on the server - If you are using YAST2(?) can you remove that part from the address?

i.e.

User-defined location:

ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/suse/discontinued/
