Cool01 mentioned about the 5 buttons. They are dead. I guess the problem lies in drivers. I must find a Linux based driver for the monitor. The CD came with the monitor for Windows. I hope I will find time to look for drivers or rather to talk to Samsung support group on the phone.
Do you know why are they dead? There is a big metal button. It works. I can press and shut down the monitor.

If those buttons are not doing anything, then it sounds like your monitor is broken. Especially if you hit the "MENU" button. A control menu should be visible in the middle of the screen, just like the warning message was.

Thanks Jonathan for the comments.
You dissuaded me from buying the book.
I will try to have a look at it when I go to a bookshop. However, that is a tall order. Those bookshops which sells IT books don't sell books related to Linux or rather open source.

They told me the demand is very low. Because people buy books online. The largest IT bookshop in Stockholm has almost zero collection of Linux books. They sell Microsoft books because there are people to buy them.

There are a couple of online bookshops in Sweden where you could buy IT books.

Thanks Cool01 for the comments.

I talked to Samsung about the problem you mentioned.
You are correct. It is a problem of malfunctioning.
They will deliver a completely new monitor. I will get it tomorrow or day after tomorrow. The monitor is less than 7 days old. So they have an obligation to help me. There is a 3 year warranty too.
