Do u want to block a particular site or all websites ?
if u want to block a particular site then try this ..
# iptables –A INPUT –s <source address> –d <destination address> –p TCP - - dport 8080 -j DROP

ok it works and it added to the firewall rules BUT the problem is i am surfing on the internet using proxy so how can i do that
like even if the iptables block the IP address my PC doesnt really connect to that ip cuz it connects to the proxy server then

shouldn't matter. the firewall is blocking the external ip address not yours. I could see the destination address being the issue. you could change the destination address to your local host address I spose, 127.0.0.1, assuming this is your pc.

If this is for a network, then you'd need to have your firewall setup beyond your proxy.
