Config IP in Suse 9

Dear forum,

I've just installed a Suse Linux Ent. Server 9.
But I'm still not able to ping the Linux from another PC, and cannot ping to another PC. This Linux is connected in a LAN.

Please help me to troubleshoot, did I miss something in IP configuratio?

really thanks for all your attention.

Exa

Did you configure the card in Yast?

You sure that the correct ports of the firewall are open? You can temporarily turn off the fire wall to see if it may be the issue.

Version 9 is really old and no longer supported. Are you installing it on newer hardware? It could be a driver issue. The current version is 11.1 with 11.2 about to release.

From a command line type

lspci

to list all the PCI devices. What is the Ethernet Controller info?

This is SLES, but that being said it is still 5 year old distro at this point, and if it still has support it probably won't be for much longer. The latest version is 11 which you should use, unless you have an explicit reason not to.

You may need to put a gateway in. That would probably be your router's IP.
