I'm trying to install MPlayer via RPM from Packman
I'm using the i686
When I try to install it, it lists TONS of dependancies,
I go and download most of them
it's still missing w32codec-all
I downloaded some w32codec but I guess it wasn't the one it wanted
it also wanted rpm-build tools which I found which then wanted rpm-build which I couldn't find.
HELP!
There HAS to be a somewhat easier way to install MPlayer with Suse.
oh and I'm also still missing libdv.so.4 which I can't find anywhere.
This is the most frustrating part of Linux for me, dependancies up the butt and can't find the right programs, and when you do find them, those dependancies have dependancies too!

if anyone could help I'd GREATLY appreciate it!

Also, anyone know how to fix an qtmlClient.dll error while trying to use Kaffine or xine?

Try apt-get or yum to automatically resolve dependencies and install packages. Is only useful if u have a broadband connection though.

Anyway, i hv never used suse and dont know if those progs work satisfactorily with suse.

If u suspect that some dependencies listed are not necessary or crucial u can force the installation. do an rpm --nodeps. But there are no guarantees it will work.

techieMoe the first one worked perfectly for me, I just had to figure out which source to add! Thanks *runs off and watches my .mov files!*
