I am trying to map a folder on my Linux system to a Windows Share
The windows share is located at smb://192.168.1.101/my-music/ the local folder i want to map it to is /music.
    bpc:/home/billy # mount smb://192.168.1.101/my-music /music
mount: can't get address for smb
    bpc:/home/billy # mount smb://192.168.1.101/my-music/ /music
mount: can't get address for smb
    bpc:/home/billy # mount smb://192.168.1.101/ /music
mount: can't get address for smb
    bpc:/home/billy #
No matter how i do it it doesnt seem to work. Does anyone have any ideas? I would like this drive mounted on boot so i would need the mount set up in fstab. If anyone could help that would be great.

    Try
    Code:
    mount -t smbfs //192.168.1.101/my-music/ /music
    ---sxeraverx---
Linux without a C Compiler is like eating Spaghetti with your mouth sewn shut. It just doesn't make sense.

This is what i get when i do that

    Code:
This command is designed to be run from within /bin/mount by giving
the option '-t smbfs'. For example:
      mount -t smbfs -o username=tridge,password=foobar //fjall/test /data/test

    Code:
    mount -t smbfs -o guest //192.168.1.101/my-music /music
That worked like a charm, thanks because i wouldnt have known about the "-t smbfs" options
