ok guys im trying to get my sound to work on my SuSE 9.3 box. i have my speakers plugged into a sound card but i also have onboard sound on my mo-bo which linux has set as my sound card. when i try to change my sound systerm to the sound card i get this error. so... how do i look at my IRQs? or what do i even do? im accually lost on this one and im sure its something extreamally simple.... thanks --ZAc-

ok so ive messed around with all of this and it seems my speakers are plugged into the right card and it has the right card configured. the problem is this. when i go into yast and the sound module then hit change sound cards where it listes the one i have configured.. then i press the "volume" button. the "PCM" volme is set to 0. this is the problem. when i move it to 100 then it will play sound and the test sound. when i hit next and then hit volume again it goes back to 0. i cant get it to stay at 100 for the pcm volume... thats my problem.. is there a file where i can manuly edit it and type in 100 or somehting like that? im happy that ive figured out the problem now i just need it to stay at 100%. -ZAc-

Is it possible to go into the BIOS and disable the sound on your Mother Board?
