That's what it always stops at, those run program events with the abnormal exits.

which other programs exited abnormally? could you post names of a few. problem is not coz of /sbin/hwup. some other package is forcing its exit.

Try a few other options. Highlight SuSe title and type one of these:
Code:
ide=nodma
acpi=off
acpi=off apm=off
nofb

yeah... so i'm assuming you mean type those four commands in the space where it says boot in the GRUB menu.
So if that's what you meant, i did exactly that, but i still got like 10-15 abnormal exits. (Sorry i didn't exactly count )
Any more things you want to try, because really, at this point, i'm open to anything right now

Maybe I can answer Ur question cuz I got the similar but very opposite problem when the first time I installed it.

I'd better describe it before. If U think Ur problem is not the same type that I solved, then no need for further reading.

Here is the description:
When I finished installation and ran openSuSE pretty well, I suddenly found myself unable to boot my Windows XP, though I did manage to install the system as Dual OS. And when I pressed 'enter' on 'Windows' at the page with
'openSuSE 10.2
Windows
openSuSE 10.2 failsafe' lines, I could see flag and then black screen and a line on the top:
ERROR ***
UNABLE TO BOOT FROM HARD DRIVER.

I'm using IBM Thinkpad R40e with Celeon 2.20 GHZ. And all hardwares were running as good as yours.
The reason why my system went wrong came from the HPA in Thinkpad. This area can recover system without any CDs or DVDs. Meanwhile, this HPA also unable me to partition during the Windows Installation, while CDs can.
So I installed Linux after I partitioned by NortonMagic and then I installed. Though NM did partition on my disk, it was just a virtual partition not real one.
But unfortunately, I didn't realize it and just installed my SuSE on it and it replaced my Windows domination of the computer(which means no data lost but just can't be read or loaded in Windows).

So far, if U think we got the same problem and same reason, then do the partition job. Never virtual!!!! And of course install Linux on the disk without Windows itself.

Mail me if still unable to boot.
