Ok thanks very much. one thing though,
How do i install
"Kernel source gcc and make"
can it be done via yast?

Also the the how to talks about the need to recompile and install the nvidia kernel module after each kernel update.

I don't understand this, what are kernel updates?

A kernel update is a new version of the kernel. ie a patch..security update..

Go into Yast Software management search for and mark to install

kernel-source
gcc
make

If they are not already installed
