    No sound?

    Hi
    I have just done a fresh install of suse 10.2 and i can not work out why i can not hear any sounds,All the kmix options are set and it is not on mute it shows as it is working but i can not hear a thing?

    Do you get a sound in Yast-hardware-soundcard?

    Have you tried alsaconfig as root? sound there?

    Which desktop are you running?

    I use kde and the sound card "creative soundblaster" shows in yast hardware i have
    run alsaconfig nothing is muted

    Seems to me with some soundblasters you need to be member of the sound group.

    does it work if you log in as root?

    That should have been "alsaconf"

    Check the alsamixer and see if anything is muted there

    google for suse + the sound card model
