    i don't know where can you pass arguments during installation or using livecd.

    but try passing one of these arguments linux

    Code:
    ide=nodma

    linux acpi=off

    linux acpi=off apm=off

    linux nofb

    linux i8042.nomux

    Insert SuSe DVD, boot up from it and Highlight Installation title. type options one by one suggested by abhishek456 ( without word linux ) and hit Enter key.
    Could you post the error that appear before kernel panic error?
    It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

    md5sum

    did you burn the DVD yourself? or did you buy a copy?
    If you burned it yourself, you might need to check the md5sum to make sure the *.iso file and DVD have the same md5sum.
    Check the little script out if you want help: Coasterless CD Burning

    hope this helps
