    How to remove SuSE 9.2?

I have a dual boot system with Windows XP and SuSE 9.2 and I would like to remove SuSE since I'm running out of space. Will this operation affect my Windows installation (would it require formatting the hard drive or something)? I don't have any experience on these things at all, so help would be appreciated.

To remove Linux, you'll need to delete the Linux partitions, and remove GRUB from the MBR.

To remove GRUB... boot with a Windows emergency boot disk and run: fdisk /mbr

    ...or

Boot with the Windows XP installation CD and from the recovery console type: fixmbr

Doing either one should rewrite the MBR allowing you to reboot directly into Windows.

If neither of those options are available to you, try using SuperGrub:

    Super Grub Disk Webpage: Download

It's a good tool for working with Linux, or Windows boot issues.

For working with or deleting partitions, I recommend the Parted Magic LiveCD:

    Parted Magic

It's a small download/burn, it's easy to use, and there is very good documentation on their website.

Let us know how it goes.

And none of this will affect my Windows installation or anything, right? Like having to reinstall Windows or something similar, I read about that somewhere.

None of it should touch your Windows installation unless you tell it to do so.
