Help - OpenSuSE 10.3 installation problems

OpenSuSE 10.3 (kernel version 2.6.22.1) installer cannot detect any hard drive installed on my computer.
    Dell Latitude D631
    AMD 64 X2 TL-56
    AMD Xpress 1270 chipset
    Toshiba SATA 60G HD

I also tried to upgrade from a working kernel (version 2.6.16) to 2.6.22. After my system rebooted, the hard drive cannot be found. The error message shows:
resume device /dev/sda5 not found (ignoring)
waiting for device /dev/sda6 to appear:..not found

However, the new kernel is supposed to support the southbridge SB600. And the new kernel works fine w/ Intel platforms, including the Bearlake.

I wonder if a driver is needed when installing the new kernel 2.6.22?

10.3 is still in beta. This problem should be reported to the developers.
