    shared connection - allocation division?

Is there an easy way to see how much I use of the monthly allocation to our common broadband connection? Does my machine have to be left running all the time? What paperwork/housekeeping is req'd, pls. I will be a server to the VOIP too, and thus will need to count all ISP traffic on my USB wireless link. Have 10.1 now, if unsuitable- pls recommend something as friendly. Ta.

You can check out a couple of bandwidth monitoring/controlling programs like these:

Home of bwmon Linux Bandwidth Monitor

freshmeat.net: Project details for Linux Bandwidth Arbitrator
