Updating Kernel for SuSE 10.2 x86_64

    Hello all,

I installed SuSE 10.2 x86_64 on my server the other day, and tried to install lm-sensors, but it requires an updated kernel. So I'm wondering how to upgrade the kernel, I've done it before on a SuSE 10.1 x86 machine, but I'm guessing it different on a 64-bit machine.

I followed this guide to update it on the 10.1 machine.

Can anyone help me with this problem?

Any help would me much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

PS. I have no GUI installed.

Hmm you should not need to change the kernel. But you will need the Kernel-source to link the sensor stuff to the kernel. Yast-Software-Software Management search for kernel-source - install it. Also be sure you have the gcc compiler installed.
