    Any ideas?

    Hey,
Does those Debian DVDs works fine on some other machines. I guess if any other Bootable CD/DVD boots fine on your machine. Then might be your Debian DVD is faulty.

I'd agree with Infoshirish here mate, if the media works in another machine fine then its possibly the drive in your PC, or the way the files are written. Or if the other PC cannot read the disc either then the media is more likely damaged.

Have you tried opening the boot menu at POST? And not just chaning the boot order?

I couldn't get my HP laptop to boot off the DVD's either... even though they were listed first. Lastly I tried hitting Esc (again on my HP) to manually select a boot device and chose the DVD drive and then it booted from it like it was suppose to and I was able to continue with my install.
